How to Get Heartwood in Palia: A Guide for New Players

In the world of Palia, Heartwood is a crucial resource for crafting and upgrading tools. However, obtaining Heartwood can be a bit challenging, especially for new players. If you find yourself in Bahari Bay and struggling to acquire Heartwood, here’s a guide to help you navigate through the process.

To obtain Heartwood in Palia, you’ll need to head to Bahari Bay, where you can find Pine trees that drop Heartwood. These trees are distinguishable by their darker bark and deep green leaves. Keep an eye out for trees with a purple glowing section, as these are the ones that yield Heartwood. While these trees are visually distinct, they are quite resilient and require at least a Standard Ax to chop them down.

To effectively gather Heartwood, you’ll need to upgrade your Ax. Begin by reaching Level 2 in your woodcutting skill and purchasing the Standard Ax recipe from Ashura. Craft the Standard Ax using 1 Makeshift Ax, 20 Sapwood Planks, and 5 Copper Bars. With the Standard Ax in hand, you’ll be able to tackle the Heartwood trees in Bahari Bay.

Once you’ve collected enough Heartwood, you can refine them into Heartwood Planks using the Sawmill. To access the Sawmill recipe, you’ll need to purchase the Heartwood Plank and Sawmill recipes from Ashura. These recipes require a certain level of Foraging, which can be improved by gathering plants and chopping trees in Kilima Valley and Bahari Bay.

To craft Heartwood Planks:

  1. Set up your Worktable and select the Sawmill recipe.
  2. Craft the Sawmill and place it on the ground.
  3. Use the Sawmill to select the Heartwood Plank recipe and craft the planks.

By following these steps, you’ll be able to acquire Heartwood and craft Heartwood Planks, essential for upgrading your tools and progressing in Palia.
